Transition House Workers - Casual/On-call
The Transition House Worker provides counselling and support to the residents in the Transtion Houses and participates as part of the team responsible for the efficient functioning of the residence operations.  On both an individual and group basis, the Transition House Worker enhances and rehabilitates the qualify of life for clients by ensuring that their physical, social, educational, medical, etc. needs are met.
This position requires Union membership.

Education:    Diploma in Human Services or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  A valid First Aid Certificate is required.
Experience:   Minimum three months previous experience in a similar environment is required.
Personal:    Feminist perspective, empathic, ability to work independently, basic office skills, good housekeeping skills, good conflict resolution skills, team player.
A Criminal Record Check and valid BC Driver's License are required.
Location:   Aldergrove and Langley

Program Manager (Excluded Position)
Ishtar Transition Housing Society requires a full-time (35 hrs/wk) Program Manager.  Experience in the violence against women and transition housing field essential.
Responsibilities include; managing programs, supervision of staff in a unionized environment, financial management, program expansion, community and policy development.
Minimum qualifications: 
Masters Degree in related field, 5 years management /supervisory/clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.  Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.  Social service and non-profit experience an asset.  Knowledge of VAW issues and effects on families required.
